20V 'Blacktop' Project - Day 11Began work on disconnecting everything on the MR2 engine on Friday after work. After 5 hours had everything ready to go. It was my first time doing this on my '2 so that's my excuse for taking so long :) Before:
After, ready to pull (minus removal of the ignitor/coil):
Then Saturday morning, a friend and I raised the car on the SUV jack stands, put together the hoist, removed the side engine mounts, and dropped the engine to the ground. That only took 1.5 hours, and most of that was just putting together the hoist.
Shot of the engine bay with no engine. Notice the drive shafts were reinserted so as not to ruin the bearings when the car is rolled out to the driveway.
